The Department of National Defense (DND) is currently awaiting a presidential proclamation that will designate part of the Subic Special Economic and Freeport Zone as a new Subic Bay naval base for the Philippine Navy’s upcoming fleet of frigates. This development was disclosed by Senator Ronald dela Rosa during a recent press briefing, emphasizing the strategic importance of enhancing military infrastructure to support the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
